SEATTLE, Feb. 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Richmond Public Relations (RPR) today announced Jason Hamilton as a partner in the firm. The addition marks a strategic shift in the company's 21 year history as Hamilton becomes the first non-Richmond to hold an equity stake. As part of the restructuring, Lorne S. Richmond will become Chief Executive Officer and Jason Hamilton, President. Founder, Louis B. Richmond, will become Senior Advisor and Chairman of the Board.
"I am thrilled about the evolution taking place at RPR," said Founder, Louie Richmond. "My new role will allow me to relinquish the daily operations of the Company to concentrate on expanding our Crisis Communication and Media Training practices. Lorne and Jason have the ability, creativity and understanding of what is needed in today's new arena of the public relations field to not only make our clients thrive, grow and be successful, but to continue to make RPR one of the most respected firms nationwide."
Newly appointed CEO and 21-year RPR veteran, Lorne Richmond, agrees. "There is great momentum happening in the world of public relations right now," added Richmond. "We are seeing the effectiveness of well-scripted campaigns and companies who value what we bring to the table. Our goal is to continue to add value as we emerge from some difficult years in the economy and position ourselves for growth. With our core client base and the addition of Jason – his knowledge, deep relationships and business acumen – I'm looking forward to our future."
Hamilton returns to RPR after spending the previous year as Chief Marketing Officer of a financial services firm in Kirkland, Wash. He originally joined RPR in 2002, where he served as an Account Manager, Vice President and Senior Vice President before leaving in late 2011. Hamilton will continue to be instrumental in developing client relationships in the consumer products, food and beverage, financial/professional services, health care, real estate, technology and travel industries.
"I'd like to thank the Richmond family for presenting this opportunity to return to the firm," said Hamilton. "As an agency we've done some outstanding work over the years, but that also means we've had great clients and a hard working staff. Those three things work hand in hand. I'm excited to begin building upon the solid foundation that has been laid and continue to strive towards even greater heights."
Known for his work as a radio commentator for the University of Washington men's basketball program and on (Clear Channel) Sports Radio KJR 950AM/102.9FM in the Seattle market, Hamilton is also active in the community serving on the Association Board of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and the Seattle Sports Commission.
